Blue Chip Talent is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Battery Test Technician to join our team in Tustin, CA . This position is ideal for a hands-on technician with deep experience in battery pack and module teardown , high-voltage systems , and electro-mechanical diagnostics . You will support engineering efforts by safely disassembling and analyzing battery systems, identifying failure modes, and contributing to product performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble lithium-ion battery modules and packs for failure analysis and quality investigations.
  • Conduct electrical, thermal, and mechanical diagnostics to identify root causes of performance issues.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment such as environmental chambers, potentiostats, and thermal imaging tools .
  • Perform risk assessments and follow strict high-voltage safety protocols (up to 1000V).
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and R&D teams on teardown findings and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Document teardown results and test data in Excel, databases, or laboratory information systems (LIMS) .
  • Provide feedback to improve the safety, efficiency, and repeatability of teardown procedures.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in battery teardown, electrical/mechanical assembly, or testing roles.
  • Proven expertise in high-voltage systems (800V – 1000V) and knowledge of electrical safety standards .
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with battery failure modes (thermal, mechanical, electrical) and component behavior.
  • Experience working in lab environments with hazardous materials and strict safety compliance.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Background in device fabrication or prototype development.
  • Basic knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage isolation techniques .
  • Experience supporting engineering validation or product development teams.
