Job Description
Salary:
The Part-Time School Bookstore Position supports the daily operations of the school bookstore. This role includes assisting customers (students, faculty, and visitors), restocking merchandise, operating the cashregister, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for purchases and returns
Stock shelves with books, school supplies, apparel, and other merchandise
Receive, unpack, and organize inventory deliveries
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and storage areas
Answer questions about products, pricing, and store policies
Assist with physical inventory counts
Follow all cash-handling and safety procedures
Qualifications:
High school diploma or currently enrolled in college
Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
Flexibility to work weekday mornings, afternoons, or occasional weekends
Compensation:
Hourly wage based on experience
