Job Description

As a Building Automation Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role performing installations, troubleshooting, repairing, and programming control systems in commercial settings. This position requires a strong background in controls technology where you will leverage your expertise in electronics, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, and building control techniques to ensure that the Building Automation System (BAS) operates efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting control drawings, plans, and specifications to mount, assemble, test, and program the BAS in a variety of commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform installations (commissioning) of HVAC control systems in commercial settings

• Troubleshoot and repair existing control systems to ensure optimal performance

• Program control systems to meet specific operational requirements

• Interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications for system assembly and testing

• Utilize a variety of hand tools and equipment to mount and assemble control systems

• Collaborative communication with internal leaders and team members to ensure all customer requirements are met

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 3+ years of experience with commercial controls and BAS systems

• Experience in programming, commissioning, and startup of Honeywell, or Tridium/Niagara-based controls systems

• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)

• A valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR, Background and Drug Screen

• EPA Certification preferred

• Ability to work on-call rotation and/or overtime to support the business

• Experience with HVAC systems and building automation technology

• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in professional mechanical environments
