Job Title: Lead Building Automation Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Building Automation Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of building automation systems (BAS). This role is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of HVAC, lighting, security, and other automated building systems while leading a team of technicians. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in BAS programming, system integration, and energy management.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Operational Duties:

• Install, configure, and program Building Automation Systems (BAS), including HVAC controls, lighting, and other smart building technologies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, performing repairs and system upgrades as needed.
• Perform software programming for automation controllers and graphical user interfaces.
• Integrate new systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and efficiency.
• Analyze system performance and recommend energy-efficient solutions.

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and train a team of building automation technicians.
• Assign tasks, oversee work progress, and ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
• Serve as the main point of contact for complex troubleshooting and system design issues.

Project & Customer Support:

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver customized BAS solutions.
• Provide technical support to clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, programming, and service reports.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in building automation and energy management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in building automation systems, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include Niagara, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Schneider Electric BAS systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in BAS programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, networking, and control system protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.).
• Experience with graphical interface programming and database management.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
