Job Description

Position: Email Security Engineer/Security Analyst

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid 3 days per week)

Duration: 12 month contract + Extensions + Possible Conversions

Pay Range: 32-42 an hour on W2

Interview Process: 2 Rounds

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage email security systems to protect against phishing, spam, malware, and other threats.
• Monitor and analyze email traffic to identify and respond to security incidents.
• Develop and enforce email security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate email security measures with broader security infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of email systems.
• Stay updated with the latest email security trends, technologies, and threats.
• Provide training and support to employees on email security best practices.
• Generate reports and metrics to track the effectiveness of email security measures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Proven experience in email security, including knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) and security technologies (DMARC, SPF, DKIM).
• Familiarity with email security tools and platforms (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast, Barracuda).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar.
• Experience with cloud-based email services (e.g., Office 365, Google Workspace).
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
