Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organized and solution-focused Carrier Specialist to oversee and optimize our network of carriers.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with carriers, ensuring accurate and consistent on time billing from our trucker partners while ensuring on-time delivery.

Your duties will also include tracking performance metrics and implementing strategies to improve supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with carriers and transportation providers
  • Negotiate contracts and transportation rates with carriers
  • Ensure all carrier compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor carrier performance, addressing any issues or concerns
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure on-time delivery
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve carrier efficiency and reduce costs
  • Resolve any transportation and logistics-related problems
  • Keep records of all carrier contracts and transactions
  • Building and maintaining relationships with trucking and carrier partners
  • Maintaining Trucker buy / Sell rates for operation purposes
  • Monitor carrier performance, addressing any issues or concerns
  • Maintaining accurate records of all pricing agreements and contracts
  • Front line contact for any carrier or trucker concerns for operations and KAM teams
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Resolve any transportation and logistics-related problems
  • Preparing reports on carrier performance and cost effectiveness
  • Maintaining Carrier SOA and accurate / timely carrier billing
  • Staying up to date with changes in transportation regulations

Qualifications

  • Looking for a minimum of 2 years experience in a Logistics role
  • Strong knowledge of domestic, supply chain, drayage and transportation regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in logistics software
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration
