Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical/PLC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in instrumentation and controls and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and instrumentation for our methane capture and conversion processes. This role involves working closely with process engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems and instrumentation for methane capture and conversion processes
  • Create and maintain control logic diagrams, schematics, and specifications
  • Program and configure PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems
  • Conduct system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems
  • Develop and maintain control system documentation, including I/O lists, loop diagrams, single-line electrical drawings, and control narratives
  • Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies and ensure seamless integration with process equipment
  • Design skid and junction box wiring schematics using standard industry CAD software
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for control system issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams
  • Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling activities
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in instrumentation and control systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of job experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, preferably in the renewable energy or environmental sector, preferred
  • Proficiency in PLC, DCS, and SCADA programming and configuration.
  • Experience with methane capture and conversion technologies.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred
  • Experience with HMI development and data acquisition systems, preferred
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems
  • Strong understanding of control system design principles, instrumentation, and process control
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and project management techniques
