Fiscal Analyst Position
Minnesota House of Representatives
The Fiscal Analysis Department is seeking a new analyst to join our nonpartisan office. We work within the Minnesota House of Representatives to provide quantitative and policy analysis services to all House members. Our analysts also work directly with House finance and tax committees on state budgetary and fiscal issues. The new analyst will be assigned to the committees with jurisdiction over health and human services policy and finance. Responsibilities of this position include:
Applicants with a master’s degree in public policy, or a related advanced degree preferred or a BS with directly relevant experience. Additionally, candidates must have experience with spreadsheets, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to convey complex information to people from diverse backgrounds.
An ideal candidate will also have experience with quantitative research and analysis; fiscal management practices; policy development; and program evaluation. They will be familiar with the legislative budget process and have knowledge of state government finance and policy issues.
This is a full-time, at-will position that is in-person with the possibility of some remote work during the interim, consistent with House policies and department needs. The House offers a competitive salary and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Starting classification and annual salary commensurate with relevant experience. Fiscal Analyst I-IV range is $83,020.08-$218,789.28. The starting salary range for an entry-level Fiscal Analyst I is generally between $83,020.08 and $91,322.16, depending on relevant experience.
