Summary

We’re looking for a Federal Government Affairs Director to help us engage with public sector leaders in Washington, DC. In this role, you will report to the Global Head of Government Affairs. You will work alongside a team of Wizards, including the public sector legal team, sales, marketing, and threat intelligence. Our ideal candidate blends strong technical and policy aptitude, superior attention to detail, is a strong influencer, and has great presentation skills. Our priority is supporting government policies that promote secure cloud infrastructure for organizations globally. We do that by listening, asking questions, and educating.

We are focused on candidates located in Washington D.C., but support hybrid models in this location.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the growth and maturity of our government affairs program, focusing on educating federal policymakers, crafting a favorable regulatory environment, and supporting public sector market development.
  • Proactively identify needs and lead the development of government affairs products for internal and external use.
  • Assist the Global Head of Government Affairs on policy developments, challenges, and opportunities, including tactical and strategic planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decisionmakers across Congress and the Executive Branch.
  • Support work with consultants and industry associations to achieve effective policy outcomes.
  • Manage engagement with third-party influencers like think tanks, civil society groups, and philanthropies in support of Wiz priorities.
  • Publish and speak publicly on behalf of Wiz.
  • Develop close collaborations with teams across Wiz, including legal, compliance, standards, security, product, finance, communications, sales, and sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in advocacy or public policy/government affairs, with diverse experience across government, military, consulting, thought leadership, and/or in-house roles.
  • Strong familiarity with emerging technology public policy trends in cybersecurity, cloud, cross-border data flow, digital trade, competition, AI, and public sector procurement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex regulatory and policy matters clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong government contacts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional expertise and relationships with State, Local, and International Governments are a plus but not required.

Candidates must meet EAR part 772 and ITAR 120.15 definition of a U.S. person and reside in the contiguous United States.

The salary range for this position is $162,000—$223,000 USD, with eligibility for equity and incentive compensation.
