Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Instructor Support Services 

Job Title: AFROTC Support Services

Location: Remote

Background: Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC) selects, educates, trains, and commissions college students to be officers and leaders of character in the Total Air and Space Force. AFROTC instills the values of citizenship, national and community service, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment in college students. The purpose of this contract is to provide qualified Instructors and support services to fill these gaps and prevent disruptions to the cadet’s training curriculum.

Job Duties:

  • Manage cadet personnel actions for approximately 15,000 cadets supporting four Regions and 145 Detachments IAW procedures outlined in AFROTCI36-2011 V3, Cadet Operations and DAFMAN36-2032, Military Recruiting and Accessions.
  • Cadet life-cycle personnel actions include scholarships, medical, physical, enlistment, categorization, waiver processing, disenrollment, and commissioning.
  • Manage personnel records for Air Force Institute of Technology (DAFIT), Senior Leader Enlisted Commissioning Program (SLECP) and Nursing Enlisted Commissioning Program (NECP) students.
  • Gain SLECP and NECP students into WINGS and complete administrative actions.
  • Monitor and update cadet pay and scholarship actions.
  • Process, review and provide recommendations for scholarship applications and awards.
  • Oversee special waiver requests and processing.
  • Oversee Initial Flying Class/Medical Flight Screening Program. Coordinate with
  • USAFSAM & AETC/SG for scheduling.
  • Manage and process congressional commissioning appointment authority for approximately 2000 applicants annually.
  • Communicate, coordinate and deconflict with HQ AFROTC, MAJCOMs, AFPC, A1s, and senior leaders on program execution, management, reporting and metrics.
  • Support the development, deployment, troubleshooting and utilization of Microsoft 365 tools to include Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint for both desktop and mobile applications. Utilize Power Apps to build custom business apps for AFROTC.
  • Perform critical analysis on assigned services and support operations; submit written recommendations for corrective actions, process improvements, simplification of procedures or implementation of emerging technology to improve AFROTC enterprise mission performance.
  • Estimate a workload of 70-80 hours per week.

 

Experience:

  • Have a demonstrated knowledge of AFROTC structure and its supporting elements, programs, missions, policies, and goals.
  • Have skills in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to a broad range of functional areas related to AFROTC. Requires knowledge of pertinent laws (i.e. Title 9 U.S.C., and Title 10 U.S.C., etc.), regulations (i.e. DoD and Air Force Instructions), policies, and precedents that affect the AFROTC Training program. Must be skilled with all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Power automate, PowerApps, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience utilizing AFROTC WINGS programs and familiarity with AFROTCI 36-2011 Vol. III is preferred.
