Reworld is seeking a dedicated Instrument & Controls Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our West Babylon facility. This role is responsible for the inspection, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation throughout the plant. Key Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting DCS, PLCs, VFDs, motor control circuits, transmitters, flow meters, level controls, and burner management systems; calibrating, installing, and testing mechanical and electrical instrumentation according to safety standards; performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and control equipment (including 480V and 4160V switchgear, motors, and starters); conducting root cause analysis on system failures and documenting corrective actions; supporting compliance with continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS); updating preventive maintenance systems and work orders in the CMMS; and participating in plant outages, emergency repairs, and rotating on-call support. Qualifications include proven experience with industrial instrumentation and controls in a power or heavy industrial setting, strong knowledge of DCS, PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage systems, ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals, comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions, and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and be on-call as needed.
