- Provide planning and onsite support to the plant, with a strong focus on critical safety systems and system reliability. Be willing to travel to other plants in the region to assist in duties of day to day and turnaround opportunities.
- Perform calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and instrumentation installations as required
- Performs all of the administrative and reporting tasks of the position including:
- Maintaining, operating, and maintenance history for all equipment as may be required.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation such as EAM work orders, Contractor Service Reports, and equipment calibration records as required by Procal Instrumentation Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times.
- Troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot/Repair Predictive program instrumentation and document instrumentation repair history in the CMMS system as required by site specific documentation
- Troubleshoot systems utilizing Schematic Wiring Diagrams (SWD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as they relate to process control.
- Troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).
- Day to day Process Analytical Equipment Calibration and Maintenance, types of which may include: Thermal Conductivity, Flame Ionization, Paramagnetic, Electrolytic, Fuel Cell, and Gas Chromatography process analyzers.
- Schedule and perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatic instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment.
- Troubleshooting, Maintenance, Repair/Replacement of Automatic Control Valves.
- Ensure replacement spare parts are available or replaced once installed.
- Personnel will have to climb ladders, stairways, and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance.
- Personnel will have to instruct contract personnel on safety rules, regulations, and maintain constant surveillance to assure their compliance at all times.
- Personnel will have "On Call" periodically. They must carry a company cell phone for availability while on call and at other times.
- Personnel must have a valid state issued driver license in good standing with the issuing state. Must be able to drive company and rental vehicle from time to time.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
- 3+ years related experience in process control instrumentation
- Proficiency with a variety of I/E hand tools meters, instrument calibration equipment etc.
- Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems and motors.
- Can read and understand P&ID's and schematic wiring diagrams.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Written and oral communication skills
