PBF Energy Inc. is seeking an Instrument/Analyzer Technician at their Martinez Refinery in California. The technician will report to the Instrument/Analyzer Shop Team Leader and will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation and analyzer systems including flow, temperature, pressure, and level displacers/transmitters, control circuits, electronic/pneumatic control valves and actuators, and PLCs. Analyzers include laser systems, mass spectrometry, gas analyzers, and liquid measurement devices. Responsibilities include operating handheld test equipment, interpreting loop drawings and electrical schematics, monitoring instrumentation performance, operating refinery vehicles and equipment, interfacing with Engineering for upgrades, participating in safety system testing, and communicating technical updates. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3,000 hours of work experience in the instrument/analyzer trade or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include journeyman status with 8,000 hours of experience, experience with PLC programming, vibration monitoring, process analyzers, and diagnostic tools. The position requires a 9/80 work schedule, callout coverage, physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, navigate stairs, work at heights and in inclement weather, and possession of a valid driver's license and active or obtainable TWIC card. The position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IBEW Local No. 302. Benefits include 401(k) with match, pension, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, disability, paid leave, and tuition reimbursement. The pay range is $55.33 to $58.69 per hour based on qualifications.
