Position: Commercial Leasing Agent

As a Commercial Leasing Agent, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leasing commercial properties, driving revenue growth, and enhancing tenant satisfaction for our portfolio in Western Canada. You will work closely with property owners, developers, and prospective tenants to negotiate and close leasing deals, ensuring maximum occupancy and profitability. The ideal person for this role must have a deep understanding of the commercial real estate market in Western Canada specifically Alberta. This role will be physically based in Londonderry Shopping Centre in Edmonton, AB.

Main Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Leasing & Business Development:

  • Market and lease commercial properties (office, retail, and industrial spaces) across Western Canada.
  • Actively seek out new tenants, building relationships with prospective clients.
  • Conduct property showings, negotiate lease terms, and prepare leasing proposals.
  • Collaborate with the leasing team to execute leasing strategies and meet occupancy targets.

Tenant Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with current and potential tenants
  • Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries and resolving leasing-related issues.
  • Ensure tenant satisfaction and retention by providing exceptional customer service.

Market Research & Reporting:

  • Stay informed of local commercial real estate market trends, competitive pricing, and market conditions.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on leasing activity, market analysis, and leasing performance.
  • Contribute insights to help develop effective leasing strategies and marketing initiatives.

Negotiation & Documentation:

  • Negotiate lease agreements, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and tenants.
  • Prepare, review, and execute leasing documentation, including leases, amendments, and renewals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial real estate leasing
  • Knowledge of Western Canada commercial real estate market, including regional economic factors and property types.
  • Proven track record of success in leasing and business development.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and tenants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and leasing software (experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar software is a plus).
