Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Locksmith to join our team. This role requires a skilled professional with extensive knowledge of locksmithing techniques, security hardware, and access control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, customer service expertise, and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior locksmiths.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain locks, key systems, safes, and security hardware for residential, commercial, and institutional clients.  Program and troubleshoot electronic access control systems, keyless entry systems, and high-security locks. Rekey, duplicate, and master key locks, ensuring compliance with security policies.  Diagnose and resolve lockouts, broken locks, and emergency security issues efficiently. Provide security consultations and recommend the best solutions to enhance client safety.  Maintain detailed records of work orders, keying schedules, and security system configurations. Train and mentor junior locksmiths, ensuring they develop technical skills and customer service expertise.  Stay updated on industry trends, new security technologies, and regulatory changes. Work with management to develop and implement security upgrade plans for clients.  Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• (commercial and residential).  Proficiency in traditional and modern locksmithing techniques (mechanical and electronic locks). Experience with access control systems, master keying, and high-security lock installations.  Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, keying charts, and security system diagrams.  Excellent customer service and communication skills. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various environments. Certification (such as ALOA, SAVTA, or relevant trade certifications) is preferred but not required for initial hire. If you are not a current ALOA member, membership is required within sixty days of hire; costs are paid by Gatekeeper.  Candidate must be able to obtain ALOA Certified Master Locksmith (CML) certification within one year of hire. Experience working with businesses, institutions, or high-security facilities is a plus.  Must like dogs; we have a shop lab

Benefits

• Pay starts at $27.00/hr.
