Job Description

As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard the cruise ship . You will work closely with the Captain and other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard the cruise ship , including engines, generators, pumps, and other equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair any equipment malfunctions in a timely manner
  • Monitor fuel and oil levels, and ensure proper storage and handling procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Train and supervise junior engineers and other crew members in the safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo as needed
  • Participate in emergency drills and be prepared to respond to emergencies at any time
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies related to marine engineering
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Engineer on board vessels
  • STCW certification
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on board vessels
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing situations
  • Willingness to work long hours and be on call 24/7
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
