Job Description

The People Strategy Consultant plays a critical role in shaping the success of our organization by developing and executing effective people strategies that support our business goals. This strategic role is responsible for driving talent management, employee development, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Reporting to the Manager, People Strategy Consulting, this role oversees all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including talent management, employee development, and creating a positive workplace environment for employees and managers.

Located in Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute leads in cancer research and patient care. Key Responsibilities

  1. Support managers and employees, acting as the primary contact for assigned client groups.
  2. Respond to various questions and manage multiple service requests.
  3. Maintain strong knowledge of HR functions, especially Employee and Labor Relations.
  4. Integrate information from multiple sources to provide effective responses.
  5. Provide policy guidance and interpretation.
  6. Collaborate with the Manager to implement people strategies and ensure resources are available for success.
  7. Coach managers in people management and organizational challenges.
  8. Implement HR initiatives locally and promote best practices in performance management and engagement.
  9. Consult on organizational design, roles, descriptions, and compensation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five years of experience partnering with leaders in large organizations (10,000+ employees) to drive talent initiatives.
  • Preferably experience in higher education, academic medicine, healthcare, biomedical/pharma, research, government, or management consulting in these sectors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to collaborate across HR disciplines such as talent management, learning and development, organizational development, or talent acquisition.
  • Proven success in leading people strategy, talent management, or organizational development initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of HR best practices, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in driving cultural change and fostering diversity and inclusion.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to use data for talent decisions.
  • Project management skills for handling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and learning management systems.
