ONELUXstudio is a prominent 20-person architectural lighting design firm located in the heart of Manhattan. Our team of talented professionals is dedicated to creating innovative lighting solutions that transform spaces and enhance experiences. We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Designer to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Position Summary

As a senior lighting designer, you'll be entrusted with the development of captivating lighting designs that breathe life into projects. Your innovative ideas will be realized through the creation of drawings, specifications, and the artful selection of fixtures, ultimately crafting inspiring spaces.

Responsibilities

• Include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborate in the development of design concepts with staff, partners, and clients.
• Prepare presentation materials to explain these concepts to our clients.
• Develop the design concepts into a detailed design which is thoroughly worked out, including technical details, calculations, etc.
• Prepare documentation including drawings, details, fixture specifications, schedules, etc.
• Review construction-phase submittals and questions from contractors.
• Perform field visits during the construction stage to evaluate the work, direct the aiming of lights and the programming of lighting control systems.
• Train junior design staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree in Architectural or Theatrical Lighting Design, Architecture, or Interior Design.
• 3-5 years’ experience in the field of architectural lighting design.
• Knowledge of lighting terminology, technology, and basic calculations including AGI.
• Experience with drawing production, specification writing, detailing, calculations, presentations, and renderings.
• Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
• Excellent design sensibility.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Works well with others.

International candidates are welcome to apply but must currently be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Base salary: $75,000/yr. - $85,000/yr. (Exact compensation commensurate with ability and experience.) This position pays overtime.

Type: Full-time, Hybrid with 4 days onsite, 1 day remote.
