Description We are looking for a Senior Proposal Writer who has exceptional attention to detail, is a skilled writer and editor, and enjoys the challenges of developing results driven written responses to legal-based government requests for proposals (RFPs). The Senior Proposal Writer will lead and support the development of written proposals through researching, writing, and submitting compelling RFP proposals. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and a passion for advancing business development for the Firm. Why consider us? Requirements In this role, you will: Lead and strategically drive the full lifecycle of complex and high-value proposal development. This involves in-depth RFP analysis and qualification, the development of winning proposal strategies and themes, direct writing and editing of compelling content, meticulous management of all proposal components and timelines, and ensuring compliant and persuasive final submissions. Proactively manage the Firms RFP/Proposal function by taking full ownership of the end-to-end proposal development process for critical business opportunities. Proposal Writing Conduct comprehensive RFP analysis by researching, identifying, and evaluating RFP resources (bid sites). Monitor, identify, prioritize RFP prospects for pursual. Update, monitor, and maintain RFP sites and expand the Firms RFP pipeline. Lead kickoff and status meetings with key RFP/proposal stakeholders. Maintain schedule of deadlines to ensure all RFP tasks are completed on time. Provide rigorous quality assurance and review processes to each RFP. Project Management Track RFP Process from start to finish; maintain internal reporting, maintain excellent historical records; working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations. Research denials ensuring each denied RFP receives appropriate follow-up, reporting and adjustment. Identify all requirements of the proposal and with RFP team assign ownership of each item, monitoring progress to maintain schedule for submission. Database Management Maintain RFP document repository with accurate records of all RFP activities, including deadlines, submissions, and communications, in the organizations document management system. Marketing Support Provide back up support as needed on marketing duties. Website updating and maintenance. Alerts/Announcements. Social Media Postings. Provide support for awards/chambers and other submissions. You will excel in this role if you have: A bachelors degree in writing, business, marketing, journalism, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least five to seven years of experience managing RFP/proposals for large-scale procurements, preferably for government agencies, or equivalent experience. You will stand out from other candidates if you: Have excellent writing and editing skills with methodical attention to detail. Are able to craft persuasive narratives. Have excellent verbal communication skills with a strong ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, actively listen to others, and adapt communication style to different audiences. Are adept at critical thinking, the identification of key issues, and the development of strategic messaging. Have excellent time management skills and strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and communication channels. Are able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail. Have strong research and analytical skills for identifying RFP opportunities. Are familiar with RFP resources, template development, and content-driven narratives. Have graphic design aptitude: ability to create layouts for proposals, brochures, newsletters, booklets, posters, signs, and other printed materials is highly desired. Are highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office suite. Have a high degree of interaction with digital media tools and platforms or the ability to adapt to new software. Are enthusiastic and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Are able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Position details: This is a full-time position located in one of our office locations. Periodic travel to the Firms other office locations may be required. We are currently working in a hybrid environment, which may allow for remote work as business needs allow. The salary range is $85,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. We offer medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, STD, LTD, group term life insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, and parental leave. The firm will also cover some public transportation costs.
