AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring a Senior Underwriter- Remote! Responsible for accurately developing employer group rates. Works with the sales department to finalize rates and develop appropriate benefit alternatives as appropriate. Acts as a mentor/advisor to Underwriters and Underwriting Trainees. Responsible for cases with the highest level of complexity. Education: Bachelor’s degree. Experience: 7 years of Underwriting experience in health insurance. Must have experience in large group underwriting (51+ employees). Preferred experience in prospect rating, renewal rating, and self-funding.
