Director of Engineering Audience, Identity, & Measurement, you will be responsible for leading a team of world class applied researchers, ML/AI, and full stack engineers who are solving cutting-edge problems to empower large & small businesses to reach, engage, and convert professional audiences at scale. You’ll be responsible for building a strong technology-driven culture, overseeing some of the most talented scientists and engineers on the planet, and helping them to pursue their passion and transform their careers. You will develop a strong bench of talent across people and technical leadership, and help the team build industry leading AI solutions for the advertising ecosystem.\n\n\n Responsibilities:\n\nYou will build and ship software, drive architectural decisions and implementation across LMS teams.\n\nYou will drive the adoption of cutting-edge solutions and methods to enable innovative marketing solutions products.\n\nYou will lead cross team/cross-functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy.\n\nYou will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems by developing best practices and strategies that balance business impact, operational efficiency, and cost, while actively raising the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn.\n\n You will act as one of the primary domain experts to influence technology choices.\n\n You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.\n\n\nQualifications\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelors degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields\n\n 15+ years of experience in management positions\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nStrong background in AI/ML techniques with applications to the Advertising domain. Proven experience designing and building scalable, reliable infrastructure for marketing technology platforms, with emphasis on data pipelines, eventing systems, and integration across adtech, CRM, and analytics ecosystems.\n\nA proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions for high QPS systems, working with massive amounts of data.\n\n\nProven experience designing and building scalable, reliable infrastructure for marketing technology platforms, with emphasis on data pipelines, eventing systems, and integration across adtech, CRM, and analytics ecosystems.\n\nExperience managing teams of 100+ individuals and first/second-line managers.
Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to perform at a high level, and collaborate very well across different teams.\n\nGood understanding of large-scale engineering systems and some or all of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, distributed key-value stores, streaming processes, recommender systems, statistical methods, and experimental design.\n\nHighly motivated and able to work with ambiguous fast-changing problem landscapes, convert vague and ill-defined problems into well-defined problems, take initiative and encourage consensus building across partners.\n\nStrong leadership abilities in order to communicate and drive cross-functional efforts. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
