Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Non-Profit Organization

Location: South Bend, IN (Fully Onsite)
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000

Position Overview

The CEO will serve as the primary leader of the organization, working closely with the Board of Directors to drive strategic initiatives and enhance the mission's reach. This role requires a highly capable and strategic leader who can anticipate trends, identify opportunities, and manage the diverse elements of a growing non-profit. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, operational, and public relations skills, along with experience in human resources and policy advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Board Engagement
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to set and implement strategic goals.
  • Provide thought leadership and direction to take the organization to the next level.
  • Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities that align with the mission.
  • Maintain transparency and regular communication with the Board.
Operational & Financial Oversight
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with the mission.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Identify and secure new funding opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Public Relations & Policy Advocacy
  • Serve as the public face of the organization, enhancing visibility and reputation.
  • Stay informed on policies and regulations that impact the organization.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and donors.
  • Advocate for policies that support the organization's mission.
Program & Initiative Development
  • Lead the expansion of programs and initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
  • Evaluate and improve existing programs to maximize impact.
  • Foster innovation to ensure continued relevance and effectiveness.
Human Resources & Team Leadership
  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff to build a strong, mission-driven team.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CEO, Executive Director, or senior leader in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking with a track record of scaling organizations and driving impact .
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with donors, stakeholders, and the community.
  • Experience in financial management, fundraising, and revenue development .
  • Knowledge of public policy, advocacy, and regulatory issues affecting non-profits.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Business, Non-Profit Management, or a related field preferred.
