Supplemental Health Care has partnered with a school district to hire an experienced Special Education Teacher Assistant to work in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. As a school professional with SHC, you’ll be supported by our Schools Center of Excellence, a dedicated team of recruiters and employment professionals that understand schools and your unique needs as a Paraprofessional. The Special Education Teacher Assistant will assist the classroom teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students may take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources. This school district requires a minimum of one year of prior experience working with children with special needs, physical or mental disabilities, and/or behavior management.

• $19 – $22 an hour*
• 2025-2026 school year
• Participate in the instructional program under the direction of a certified teacher
• Work with groups of children based on grade level
• Work with children in learning centers and assist in the preparation and care of learning materials
• Assist in preparing classroom displays and bulletin boards
• Communicates relevant information regarding student’s behavior with parents
• Assist students with feeding, diapering, or toileting and charts time
• Care for classroom equipment and materials and may operate audio-visual equipment
• Assist with lunch, snack, and clean-up routine and assist children with clothing management based on grade level
• Participate in In-service training programs as required
• Assist certified teacher with classroom activities as directed
• Prepare training aids for the classroom as required
• Work with children with special needs

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, and/or behavior management
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
