Phoenix Seminary's Mission is to train men and women for Christ-centered ministry for the building up of healthy churches in Phoenix and the world. We accomplish this through our philosophy of scholarship with a shepherd's heart.

At Phoenix Seminary, you’ll join a team of mission-driven professionals dedicated to serving the community and equipping the Church through theological education. As an Enrollment Counselor, you will play a vital role in welcoming and guiding prospective students through every stage of the enrollment process—from initial inquiry to application and beyond.

Working closely with the Enrollment Team, you will be one of the first points of contact for individuals exploring a calling to ministry or theological study. Your role will involve building meaningful relationships, providing personalized support, and clearly communicating the value and distinctives of a Phoenix Seminary education.

Position Summary : The full-time Enrollment Counselor as well as supporting enrollment team efforts through various means.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage prospect and applicant pool as assigned each recruitment cycle.
  • Respond to prospective student inquiries timely and with excellence in customer service.
  • Execute enrollment team communication plan for enrollment counselors, including completing call lists, outbound emailing, texting, etc. as it corresponds to the enrollment contact strategy.
  • Host prospective students during campus visits
  • Assist in the planning and execution of recruiting and student events on campus (Preview Night, New Student Orientation, Chapel, etc.)
  • Lead out in virtual events for prospective and new students (virtual Q&As, virtual info sessions, virtual new student orientations, etc.)
  • Assist in enrollment-related communication plans.
  • Make professional and persuasive presentations to prospective students in various venues.
  • Assist in managing recruiting event calendar, planning for recruiting events, and exploring new recruiting event opportunities.
  • Travel to recruiting events both locally and nationally to generate new leads and connect with existing applicants.
  • Represent Phoenix Seminary at institutional events on campus and in the Phoenix area (Eunice Initiative, Sacred Truths, Sacred Task, etc.)
  • Cultivate new and existing relationships with enrollment influencers in partnership with the Enrollment Manager and Director of Enrollment.
  • Maintain relationships with local Christian colleges and campus ministries.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Enrollment Manager or Director of Enrollment

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills demonstrated both written and orally.
  • Ability to work well on a team with shared goals.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment to reach individual enrollment goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and ability to learn a variety of other computer applications quickly.
  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher.
  • High personal and professional integrity consistent with Biblical standards and the statement of faith and governing values of the Phoenix Seminary
  • Preferred prior experience in theological education (student or employee)
  • Preferred prior experience working with CRM and database program (Blackbaud, Keap or similar)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit using a computer for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Work Schedule:

Ability to work regular Monday through Friday assigned schedule with hours outside regular work schedule as needed.

E va l ua ti on: The position described above, like other staff, will be evaluated at the end of an Introductory Period (90-day review), and then, if applicable, on an annual basis.
